Huawei Completes HSPA+ Network Upgrade for StarHub

Singaporean telecom operator StarHub announced on March 17 that the company and Chinese telecom equipment supplier Huawei have completed tests to upgrade StarHub's 3.5G network to HSPA+ (High Speed Packet Access Plus) network, the Sohu IT News reported on March 17. Leveraging Dual Carrier frequency technology, the network can bond two carrier channels thereby enhancing network efficiency by up to 20%. Through the upgrade, the HSPA+ network is capable of delivering a maximum data downlink speed of up to 42.2Mbps, doubling the existing maximum speed of 21Mbps, according to the same source.
